So I'm thinking if there is something inherently wrong with DWM in that scenario you describe, then anyone in that same scenario would be experiencing the same thing. My games all play good and my other monitor(s) look fine while gaming and no crashes. I have never had or seen any issues like what you describe. My 2nd monitor has all my monitoring software up on it while gaming. I play DX11 games and have been using 2 & sometimes 3 monitors while doing this. I think you have something else going on with your system. But cmon thats kindof an annoying process to have to end it after playing a game with DX11! Does anyone know a way to fix DX11's issues with DWM? If dwm crashed and you want it to work properly again, just end the process, and itll force it to open again, but itll open corectly and wala! its back. But the first time it crashes, the process actually comes back up, but it only takes maybe 2,000k(aside from the usual maybe 30,000k. For instance when dwm crashes you get screan tears occasionaly(not during the game thank god) but in general. ok thats good, but then your stuck with ugly desktop functionality. When you do bring it up, youll notice that the other screen can actually be seen on the desktop. When playing a directx11 game on dual monitor setup, the second monitor(one without the game) blacks out, and at some random point when playing the game, dwm will crash, and bring you to the desktop, making you have to bring the game up. When touching the side screen with a window the little clear box that shows up, thats some thing managed by dwm. for those who dont know dwm.exe is a background process on windows 7(dont know about vista) and it basically makes things run smoothly.
